Run a hybrid event
Part of the audience is in the room, the rest follows remotely. Both see the same sessions, vote in the same polls and ask their questions in the same place.
How it works
The remote audience is not a second event: they follow the same programme, on the same site.
- Before
You build the site and the programme as you would for an in-person event, then add one live channel per filmed room. A question in the registration form can ask each person whether they will come in person or follow remotely.
- During
Each filmed room has its own video on the site, whether it comes from Studio Live or from your video production company. Polls and questions appear over the picture, full screen included, and the room answers from the same screens. The speaker moves their session forward from their phone.
- After
The replay is split session by session: clicking a session takes the video to the right moment. The report separates in-room attendance from site traffic.
What you will use
Four modules do most of the work for a hybrid event. All the others are included.
What it does not cover
Two things a hybrid event sometimes needs that the tool does not do.
- No video capture: the Studio puts together a light broadcast, but a multi-camera plenary is still a job for a production company, whose stream is then shown on the site.
- No automatic failover if the network drops. Streaming depends on the control room’s connection, and that needs planning.
Frequently asked questions
- Can the remote audience ask questions?
- Yes, from the session page, just like the people in the room. Questions land in the same queue, with moderation if you turn it on.
- Can several lives stream at the same time?
- Yes. Each filmed room has its own channel: its video, its interaction sequence and its current session, and visitors switch between them without leaving the page.
- Do I have to use Studio Live?
- No. The Studio is for putting together a broadcast in the browser. If your video production company already streams to a platform, you simply show its video on the site, and the interaction layer sits on top.
